These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PDFWrangle at pdfwrangle.com (the "Service"). PDFWrangle ("PDFWrangle", "we", "us" and "our") operates pdfwrangle.com. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
PDFWrangle is a set of browser-based PDF tools: compress PDF, merge PDF, convert images (JPG, PNG and HEIC) to PDF, split PDF (including extracting and deleting pages), unlock PDF and sign PDF.
PDFWrangle is free. Every tool can be used without an account, without a usage limit and without a watermark.
We may offer an optional paid plan ("Pro") in the future. Before it launches, we'll publish what it includes and its price on our pricing page. Section 5 explains the rules that apply if you purchase it. The payment sections of these Terms do not affect the free tools.
2. Your files stay on your device
PDFWrangle processes your files locally in your web browser. Your PDFs, images, passwords and signatures are not uploaded to our servers, and we never see or store them. When you close the tab, they're gone from the page. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of your files. See our Privacy Policy for details.
3. Check your results
Always check output files before you rely on them. Compression may reduce image quality and may not reach every target size. Splitting may not keep bookmarks, outlines or links. Some damaged or protected files may not open.
- Unlock PDF removes a password you already know, or removes printing and copying restrictions from documents you have the right to edit. It does not crack unknown passwords.
- Sign PDF places a simple electronic signature (a drawn or typed signature) on a PDF. It is not a certified or qualified digital signature. You are responsible for deciding whether it is acceptable for your document.
4. Acceptable use
You may use PDFWrangle only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- process files that you have no right to possess, edit or share, or that infringe someone else's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- remove passwords or restrictions from documents you don't own or aren't authorized to unlock;
- sign a document in someone else's name without their permission, or use the Service to forge, falsify or alter documents for fraud or any other unlawful purpose;
- interfere with, overload, probe or attack the Service, or copy, resell or redistribute it.
You are solely responsible for the files you process and for how you use the results.
5. Future paid plans, billing and Creem
If we offer a paid plan and you purchase it, these rules apply:
- Price and terms shown first. The price, what's included and whether it is a one-time purchase or a subscription are shown on our pricing page and at checkout before you pay. The price that applies to your order is the one shown at checkout when you place it.
- Creem is the seller. Your purchase is processed by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ), our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Creem sells the paid plan to you, takes payment, issues your invoice or receipt, and calculates and collects applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Creem's Buyer Terms and Creem's Privacy Notice. The charge appears on your statement under Creem's name (for example "CREEM.IO* STORE"), not PDFWrangle.
- Subscriptions. If you subscribe, the subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You authorize Creem to charge your payment method on each renewal at the then-current price. If we change a subscription price, we'll tell you by email before it applies to you.
- Cancelling. You can cancel a subscription at any time in the Creem customer portal (open the link in your Creem receipt email, or go to creem.io/my-orders/login and sign in with the email you used to purchase) or by emailing support@pdfwrangle.com. After you cancel, you won't be charged again and paid access stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Refunds for paid plans are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. All refunds are issued by Creem to your original payment method.
6. Intellectual property
PDFWrangle, including its software, design, text and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. Your files remain yours. We claim no rights in them.
7. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any output will meet a particular size, quality or legal requirement. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. This section doesn't affect any statutory rights that can't be excluded by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, business or reputation; and
- our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for PDFWrangle in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) US$50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) gross negligence or willful misconduct, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, (c) death or personal injury, or (d) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Nor do these Terms affect any statutory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
9. Changes, suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may change, suspend or discontinue any tool or feature, and we may block access to anyone who breaches these Terms or where we must do so to comply with the law. If you have purchased a paid plan and we end your paid access without cause, we'll refund the unused part of what you paid.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects paying customers, we'll give them notice by email before it applies. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding, for this purpose, the laws of the Hong Kong SAR, the Macao SAR and Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any such dispute will be submitted to the competent people's court at the place where the operator of PDFWrangle is domiciled.
This choice of law and forum does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws where you live:
- If you are a consumer habitually resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the provisions of the law of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by agreement, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
- If you are a consumer in the United States, you keep any rights under your state's consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Payment, invoicing and tax matters for any purchase are also governed by Creem's Buyer Terms. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
