Frequently asked questions

What is the e-Aadhaar password?

UIDAI says it's the first 4 letters of your name in capitals plus your year of birth (YYYY), for example SURE1990. Check UIDAI's official page for the current rule.

Why does my e-Aadhaar password not work?

Check the capitals and that you used the name exactly as it appears on your Aadhaar. UIDAI's page shows examples for short names and names with initials (UIDAI).

Is it safe to unlock Aadhaar here?

Yes. The file and password stay in your browser and are never sent to a server.

What if I don't know the password?

PDFWrangle can't help with that: it only removes a password you already know. Ask the person or organization that sent the file.
